Online concrete5 Meetup - June 12, 7pm Central

At our monthly Minneapolis concrete5 user group meeting tonight! Instead of just doing it in person, we're going to broadcast using Google Hangouts Online. If you join us, you might win a copy of the concrete5 Beginner's Guide 2nd edition!

Each month (or most months, depending on if we have enough people) several developers in Minneapolis get together at Spyder Trap to talk about concrete5. Normally we just swap stories, mention the stuff we're working on, how we work with different kinds of clients, new technology in web development, etc.

This Month Is Special

This month, we have a special meeting. We're gearing it towards people that are new to the CMS, or who are curious about it. We'll be going over how the system works for managing content a bit, then outlining how it works as a developer. We're also going to demo a couple of new tools from Jordan Lev and myself. They are both things that will save you a LOT of time when developing concrete5 websites.

The Really Awesome Thing?

We will also be giving away copies of the new concrete5 beginner's guide from Remo Laubacher. I wrote a review in my last post. It's a really great way to get started, as well.

How can you win? Simply show up for the meetup. We'll provide a link to a google drive form where you can enter your name. At the end of the meeting, we'll pick anywhere from one to three people at random from that list to win! The number of copies we give away depends on the number of attendees. If there are only a few, and most of them already know the system, we might keep some copies to give away next month.

The details for showing up in person are here. Because we want as many people as possible to be able to show up, we're also going to be using Google Hangouts On Air to broadcast. You will be able to watch on YouTube here, or check the twitter hashtag #concrete5 for a link to the hangout as we go live.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone tonight!
